Talked to Dwight again.
He said mom is doing really good.
They started turning down life support stuff, and said she was doing just fine on her own, so they got it all off her.
He said the nurse said she was a great patient and came off everything great.
They removed the breathing tube within 2 1/2 hours of surgery.
When they did, She kind of licked her lips and coughed just a little, but seemed to be fine, but sore.
The nurse asked what her pain was on a 1 to 10 scale and she was able to tell him it was like a 9.
He told her he would take care of that, and gave her some pain medicene through her IV.
Dwight said he had turned to look out the window, and by the time he turned back around she was sleeping soundly.
So she is doing great, and I think he said if she continued as well as she has been, they may move her to a room (out of ICU) by tomorrow.
I would like to personally thank everyone for your support and prayers.
It means a lot to all of us, as well as mom.

Thank you so much for the update on Jackie. We have been wondering how she was doing and are so thankful she is doing well. She is a very strong person with a very postive attitude. She will do well. God Bless her...and the prayers go on...
Just want to make a correction and give an update on mom. She was in surgery for approx. 3 1/2 hrs, they said at 11pm they would be bringing her to ICU but it took about 1 hr. she was up there at aprox 12:10pm. The surgen came in and told us he replaced her one valve and was able to fix the other one. At approx 5:30pm (5 1/2 hrs not 2 1/2 hrs) after surgery she had her breathing tube taken out and was breathing well on her own. At approx. 6:15pm I was feeding her ice chips and an hour later vanilla pudding, and soon after that when she heard she could have some diet pepsi her eyes came open wide and she grinned from ear to ear!!! By the time I left at 9pm she was propped up in mild pain but speaking in a sentence or two at a time. Her nurse Vicki was going to work through the night with her to get her oxygen levels up so they would not have to have an oxygen mask put on. All in All she is doing GREAT!!!
